Meet the Girls

I keep talking about my wonderful birds but haven't even introduced you to them yet.

Here is Lucy. She is the wild one in the bunch. Sometimes a little over the top but a true leader and a beautiful and unique bird.

Then we have Ethel. She is a beauty. More quiet and reserved then Lucy, but always in charge of her girls.

Keeping up with the Jones'

Ethel and the girls loved being at the Andiel's house. They got to sit under a nice tree in the shade out of this hot and humid heat. But at last, their stay is over and they have flown on to keep up with the Jones'.

Lucy and the girls are settled in for the night at the Criss'.

Tonight was the most fun I have had since this started. And that is saying a lot, since this has been such a blast! A friend of mine brought her kids, got all "blacked" out and helped me move the birds around tonight. They were little spies. Most fun I have had in awhile.

New Homes

Ethel and the girls had a blast hanging out at the Craft's house. Their girls loved them. And Lucy and the girls have flown off to visit the fun family over at the Gildert's house. This house was very excited about them and can't wait to pick the next victim...I mean generous family.

Busy Day

Ethel and the girls went from the Thompsons, to the Tuckers, to the Crafts and have settled in for the night at the Crafts. While staying with the Tuckers, a lovely storm came through. So I went to check on the girls and they survived. Shew! I waterproofed the sign, but you just never know. Their beautiful feathers got wet, but nothing the sun didn't dry out. So they moved on to the Crafts.

Lucy and her friends are settled in for another night with the Dixons, but are scheduled to fly off to a new home in the morning. I wonder where they are going to land?

Garage Sale?

Well, Ethel and the girls only had a short stint at the Thompsons. For fear that people would think she was having a garage sale. (Man, I love her) So she paid her dues (which she was wonderfully so generous with, THANK YOU!) they have moved on to their new home. Lucy and her friends are still sitting quietly at the Dixon's house wondering where they will go next.

First Night

The first night was a success. Both the Embrys and the Beckers were troopers and got a good laugh about it. While distributing the Girls to the Beckers, they came home. I wasn't quiet done, so I circled the neighborhood and waited for the right moment to hand off the last piece to their daughter who totally played it off. Gotta love that girl.

Both families have paid their dues and have sent the Girls off to other unsuspecting families. Looking for ward to their reactions. I had to be very stealthy at one house.

What The Flock Is Going On?

Hello and welcome to my 3 Day Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser. If you are reading this, you have either been Flocked or saw a neighbor who got flocked and became curious to see what it was all about. So welcome!

My name is Jamie Hodges and I am walking in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk for the Cure this November in Dallas. In order to participate in this amazing event, I committed to raising $2300. And thanks to my Pink little friends, I hope to reach this goal and exceed it all in the name of Breast Cancer Research.

So Congratulations! You have been Flocked!

All of the directions on what to do now should be in the clear plastic container that was on your doorstep. But in case you have misplaced the container, you can find all of the information in previous posts on this blog.

Operation Flamingo Flock
Flocking is easy and fun. I go late at night and plant my birds in someone's yard. I started by flocking friends that I thought would appreciate the idea. In order for the birds to be removed from their yards, they needed to pay me off (donation, of course) and give me the name of the next flocking victim, and so on. I call this, "Operation Flamingo Flock."

Flocking Insurance
Anyone that has been flocked knows that the Flamingo Letter states that certain donation amounts buy you "flocking" insurance. This means that donations of $50 or more will buy you temporary flocking insurance so your friends cannot flock you for 60 days. Donations of $100 or more buys you protection for the entire 2010 fundraising season!

Explaining The Flock

WHAT ARE THESE CRAZY BIRDS DOING IN YOUR FRONT YARD?

There are two things you need to do to have these fine specimens removed from your yard:

1) Pay me off…
Make a donation to my fundraising efforts either by check (made payable to the "Susan G Komen 3 Day Walk")), or credit/debit card (go to http://www.the3day.org/goto/PinkDramaMama and make a donation. Please comment that it is for the "Flock"). Suggested donation amount is $25, but I realize not everyone can do that, so any amount is appreciated. Of course, donations in excess of $25 are also greatly appreciated. “NOTE” Any donation in excess of $50 also “buys” you flocking insurance, which means your friends can’t flock you back for 60 days. $100 or more “buys” you insurance for the entire 2010 fundraising season.

2) Turn in a friend…
Give me the name and address of a neighbor or friend who will be the next recipient of this lovely pair of birds. I won’t ask if you’re sending them out of fun, friendship or mischief…I just ask that you do help them find a new home. As soon as I’ve received your donation, I’ll remove the girls from your front yard and will plant them anywhere you’d like in a 20 mile radius (for now).
